Oilrigs rise up from the depths, and their support structures become living reefs that collect bait and gamefish. One only has to visit the rigs to catch a wide range of fish. In addition, the active artificial reef programs of the LDWF have created many fishing areas that are full of fish, and the locations are published for the use of the public. This interactive map will help both visitors and residents find productive spots to fish. If freshwater fishing is your thing, you are also in fishing spot heaven. The entire Mississippi River watershed runs through the state, and the number of public fishing holes is endless. You can find public ramps on lakes, rivers and ponds throughout the state and the bass, crappie, and catfishing cannot be topped.
